OhioMHAS Quality Housing Criteria

Intro to Quality Housing Criteria Guidance Document Webinars Planned
The Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (OhioMHAS) has established a Quality Housing Criteria guidance document. These criteria apply to any housing setting seeking levy, state or federal funds distributed by OhioMHAS or a local behavioral health authority; including Permanent Supportive Housing, Recovery Housing, Residential Facility (Class 2) and/or Time-Limited/Temporary Housing. These criteria were vetted by stakeholders and reflect a minimum set of quality criteria for housing providers who receive funding through OhioMHAS or the local community behavioral health authority to ensure all individuals with a behavioral health diagnosis or substance use disorder has access to an array of safe, affordable, quality housing.
Implementation of the Quality Housing Criteria will be rolled out in a phased-in approach over the next calendar year. OhioMHAS is working to establish time frames for operator compliance which will occur throughout 2019. Housing operators are not required by OhioMHAS to be in full compliance at this time.
The Bureau of Recovery Supports has scheduled three webinar opportunities to review the document and answer questions.
Dates and times include:
Jan. 7 | 1-2:30 p.m.
Jan. 17 | 1-2:30 p.m.
Feb. 20 | 1-2:30 p.m.
More information will be available on the OhioMHAS Housing Supports web page as it is developed. Please direct questions regarding the document and application process to qualityhousingcriteria@mha.ohio.gov.
